Work Life Issues: Creating Meaningful Work In order for work to be meaningful, work must first the useful. (See Realities Matrix). This discussion forum is intended for the purpose of sharing ideas about ways to create meaningful work. All work that is useful has the potential to also be meaningful. Work efforts that move against what is good for humankind is useless, and therefore can never be meaningful. All useful work can be valued but each individual must take personal responsibility for finding ways to make it meaningful. Collaborative Endearment: Loving Relationships If one intends to partially resolve the problem of separateness (See Realities Matrix) by creating an especially intense relationship with another person, also known as a primary relationship, or have satisfying relationships with others, then a number of courageous choices are critical. Once past the attraction phase, relationships tend to take one of two courses, either they move toward a "detached arrangements" or toward a "collaborative endearment" This discussion forum is designed to exchange ideas that can nurture the creation of collaborative endearment that reduce the likelihood of movements toward a detached arrangement. Motivation Based Parenting: Excellence in Parenting From the perspective of synergistic psychology, there are four basic models of child guidance. (See Four Models) Only one of the four models, Motivation Based Parenting, is a useful in rearing children that will be empowered to succeed in the democratic capitalism of the new millennium. This discussion for is designed to exchange ideas about parenting our youth in a way that will maximize their likelihood of success and happiness in life. Emergent Self-creation: Enhancing Self-esteem Self-esteem is not simply a positive view of one's self. The "self task" is a set of choices that allows for the creation of the "emergent-self." Low self-esteem is not a life sentence. This discussion forum is designed to assist everyone in the ongoing task of self-creation and encouraging others in the expression of their unique self and the techniques of "emergent self-creation." Synergration Coaching: Putting It All Together Common errors in life are often made when people emphasize only one, or perhaps too, of the three tasks of life. However, work success does not compensate for impoverished relationships and a lowly sense of self. A number of relationships do not compensate for the lack of usefulness in one's life nor a lowly sense of self. In addition, self-indulgent and self-stimulation, coupled with self-centeredness, does not compensate for what is missing in terms of relationships and making useful contributions. In short, we need all three elements, in some relative balance, in order to achieve the level of satisfaction which we might call "happiness." This discussion forum is intended to serve as a place to discuss the integration of work, relations, and self. Leadership and Team-building Team building is a useful organizational activity. When this kind of training leads to teamwork, even more progress can be made toward the organizational goals. However, none of this effort makes a difference unless true "teamwork products" are created. Teamwork products are the unique creations of the team that simply could not have been discovered or created by separate individuals. Unless team building activity, in the spirit of teamwork, leads to the creation of true teamwork products, none of this energy has meaning, in a competitive sense, in the striving toward organizational excellence. This discussion for is intended to serve as a medium to discuss how team building efforts and the creation of teamwork can serve to better generate unique teamwork products for competitive organizations. Performance Coaching: Providing and Receiving Using group training methods can be useful in providing general information to organizational members. However, coaching and mentoring activity has the advantage of being specifically designed for the individual and allows for specific monitoring of progress on it individual basis. This discussion forum is intended to serve as a medium to those who are providing coaching activity as well as receiving it. All coaches need coaching. Each of us can learn how to coach and how to receive coaching from others.
